It has been pointed out in previous posts that Muslims seem enamored with the fact that the Lord Jesus Christ spoke Aramaic, primarily because they believe it proves that He worshiped their god, Allah. Does Jesus Ever Say in the Bible, Pray to Me?

If Jesus isn't God, why does He teach us to pray to Him? Wait a minute... Does Jesus ever say in the Bible, you can pray to Me? But the Bible teaches that there is only ONE God! And only that God can hear and answer our prayers! Only God is omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent! So does Jesus claim to have GOD POWERS in the Bible, which powers God shares with NO ONE? Where Does Jesus Say, "I Am Not God. Stop Worshiping Me?"

The Bible is so straightforward about the Deity of Christ that those who choose to deny it can only do so by utterly rejecting the Word of God. No one with an objective mind can read the text of the New Testament and come away with any other conclusion than that the Christ that it speaks of is divine. A typical challenge from Muslims to Christians is to produce a verse in which Jesus categorically states, "I am God. Worship Me." We have already covered some of the places where Jesus says He is God in previous articles so, in this one, we will take a look at the many places in the Scriptures where Jesus is worshiped as God. But first let us look at two reactions to worship as exhibited in the New Testament. Luke relates what the Apostle Peter encountered when he visited the home of a Gentile: Acts 10 25 When Peter entered, Cornelius met him, fell at his feet, and worshiped him. 26 But Peter helped him up and said, “Stand up! I myself am also a man.”

Comparing the Bible and Quranic Manuscripts

While Muslim critics of the Bible may claim that the text of the Bible has been corrupted, they are never able to pinpoint a specific time that this alleged corruption occurred. For 400 years after the death of Muhammad, Islam adhered to the words of the Quran affirming that the Taurat (the Quranic word for the Hebrew Torah) and the Injil (the Gospel) had been sent by their god and would be preserved by him. But it appears that sometime in the 11th century, they finally realized that Muhammad was nowhere to be found in the Bible, and it seems that a decision was made to blame it on a Jewish and Christian conspiracy to hide his name from the world. Where Does Jesus Say, "I Am YHWH (God)" in the Bible?

Where does Jesus say I AM GOD in the Bible? Jesus said He was God again and again in the New Testament. We cover a few of those verses here. But first, we need to give The Name of God, YHWH, its context. In Exodus 3, Moses comes face to face with God in the burning bush, and Moses asks Him what name he should give the Israelites for God. And God tells him, " I AM THAT I AM ( YHWH ); and He said, You shall say this to the sons of Israel, I AM has sent me to you ." That same name " I Am " is used elsewhere by YHWH in the Old Testament such as in Deuteronomy 32:39, Isaiah 41:4, 43:10, 13, 46:4, 48:12, and 52:6. So that was YHWH , Moses and Israel around 1600-1500 BC. When Jesus began His ministry in Israel around 27AD, He came bearing the very same name. But wait. He used it for Himself .
