Who is the Central Focus of the Bible?

Someone asked, "Is the birth of Mary mentioned in the Bible?"

No, it is not. But the reason why Mary or anyone else doesn't have a bigger part in the Bible is because it was crystal clear Who the focus of all Scripture was:

  The Coming Messiah, Jesus.

What on earth could have been more important than to announce to all mankind that GOD was coming to earth to dwell among men and then to die for our sins?

That is why God sent the angel to tell Mary that the Child was going to be:

"... Emmanuel, God with us." Matthew 1:23

That is why God sent John the Baptist to begin to preach repentance, because the Lord spoken of in Malachi 3 was coming to earth to enter into His Temple.

That is why Jesus Himself pointed to the Scriptures as talking about HIM (caps mine):

John 5:39 "You pore over the Scriptures because you think you have eternal life in them, yet they testify about ME."

John 14:1 “... Believe in God; believe also in ME."

Luke 24:27 "Then beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, He interpreted for them the things concerning HIMSELF in all the Scriptures."

Luke 24:44 "Then He told them, “These are MY words that I spoke to you while I was still with you—that everything written about ME in the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”

  1 Peter 1

10 Concerning this salvation, the prophets who prophesied about the grace that would come to you searched and carefully investigated.

11 They inquired into what time or what circumstances the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating when He testified in advance to the messianic sufferings and the glories that would follow.

12 It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you. These things have now been announced to you through those who preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Angels desire to look into these things.

Jesus was unashamed to speak about Himself because HE and He alone is the focus of the Bible.
